Key Responsibilities:
Patient Evaluation & Treatment Planning
• Conduct thorough patient evaluations based on physician referrals.
• Develop individualized treatment plans with functional, goal-based outcomes.
• Ensure treatment plans are reviewed and approved by referring physicians.
Hands-On Occupational Therapy
• Provide direct therapy to help patients regain functional independence in daily activities.
• Implement therapeutic interventions to improve strength, coordination, and mobility.
• Train patients in self-care tasks such as dressing, grooming, eating, and bathing.
• Recommend and train patients on the use of assistive devices and adaptive equipment.
• Develop and implement home exercise programs for continued recovery.
Collaboration & Communication
• Work closely with nursing staff, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Educate caregivers and family members on patient needs and progress.
• Participate in discharge planning to ensure successful patient transitions.
• Communicate patient status, progress, and concerns to the rehab team.
Documentation & Compliance
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes.
• Ensure compliance with Medicare and other reimbursement regulations.
• Record daily treatment charges per approved billing guidelines.
Supervision & Leadership
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and therapy students.
• Conduct in-services and training for staff on restorative techniques and therapy programs.
• Participate in performance improvement programs and facility meetings as needed.
What We’re Looking For:
Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) (or eligible for licensure).
