Construction Associate Attorney

Overview

UB Greensfelder currently has a full-time opening for a junior or mid-level Construction Associate attorney in the St. Louis office. The work will involve all manners of dispute resolution (mediation, litigation, arbitration) and contract preparation, review and negotiation. Our clients include contractors, design-builders, subcontractors, owners, architects and engineers. Missouri law license required.

Responsibilities

The role involves handling dispute resolution and contract-related work for clients in the construction sector, including but not limited to drafting, negotiating, and reviewing contracts; performing legal research; preparing pleadings; and supporting discovery, motions, and case preparation for trial or arbitration.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of litigation experience; construction law experience.
• Experience in legal research, drafting pleadings; preparing and responding to discovery; motion practice.
• Exposure to preparing a case for trial / arbitration.
• Experience with construction contracts.
• Ability to effectively communicate with clients and convey competence in terms of the legal issues and the strategic practical issues in construction disputes.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
