Location : Hybrid (Client located in San Diego, CA)

Work Shift : Monday through Friday (8 : 00AM – 5 : 00PM PST)

Must be able to work on a W-2 basis. Local to San Diego, CA area.

JOB DESCRIPTION

This Global FinTech company has an immediate long-term contract opportunity in San Diego, CA for a Data Scientist / Engineer. This position requires working hybrid up to 3 days onsite, Monday-Friday.

Contract Duration : 6 months (Possible Extension)

Responsibilities

• Lead experimentation, apply advanced statistical methods, and craft data-driven narratives that inform senior leadership and guide decision-making.
• Partner closely with business operations, product, and engineering teams to evaluate program performance, design causal models, and deliver insights that drive efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with fellow data scientists and analysts to deliver solutions impacting customer journeys, operational readiness, and revenue growth.
• Perform business analysis using techniques such as statistical analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, and data mining.
• Determine best practices and develop actionable insights and recommendations for current business operations.
• Identify analytical requirements with internal or external clients; produce ad hoc data and reports as needed.
• Assist in implementing or developing systems to capture business operation information.
• Occasionally guide less experienced business data analysts.
• Lead design, execution, and interpretation of A / B and other experimental methodologies to evaluate program and product performance.
• Apply Bayesian methods and causal inference to uncover insights that improve customer experience, reduce friction, and drive revenue.
• Partner with cross-functional leaders to define success metrics and measurement frameworks; ensure alignment on tracking and communication of outcomes.
• Collaborate with data engineering to guide development and maintenance of reliable data marts for scalable analysis.
