JGPR is seeking a Public Relations Associate (Account Executive equivalent) to join our fast-growing team working with municipal agencies, public schools, and police / fire / EMS / emergency management agencies nationwide.
JGPR has recently been named a state contract holder by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for Public Relations, Marketing, Advertising and Website Services.
Position Summary : JGPR Associates are the backbone of our agency. They have numerous responsibilities including offering strategic advice in a team environment, writing copy, updating websites, pitching stories, creating engaging social media content, photographing events, attending meetings and assisting the Account Director with high-level projects and crises.
A Public Relations Associate is client facing but services as part of a regional public relations team. Our clients demand superior work, and our associates are a major reason why we retain over 90% of our clients year-over-year!
As mid-level professionals, Public Relations Associates take work on their teams and may be called upon to lead a campaign or event or to delegate work on a project or campaign as necessary.

Our JGPR Public Relations Associates are known for producing high-quality copy and layout / design projects. They may also possess specialized skills including photography, project management, videography, graphic design or other creative or technical skills that make them particularly valuable. They also possess a superior knowledge of writing style, AP style and client industry standards.
A Public Relations Associate builds and maintains close, trusting relationships with clients and the media members we work with.
Qualifications : Superior interpersonal skills and internal communications skills.
This position is generally considered mid-level, and we are looking for 5-10 years of experience in public relations and / or 2-3 years of experience in public relations when coming from a journalism, marketing, business, or non-PR career with at least 5 years of experience in the other field.
Applicants with a daily news reporting background are a plus. Prior completion of superior training regimen including FBI LEEDA Master and / or FEMA APIO / MPIO programs will be looked upon very favorably, such training must be completed in the first year of employment.
