AI Engineer

Location : North Houston, TX

Duration : Full-time (Remote)

About the Role

Insight Global is hiring an experienced AI Engineer for one of its top clients in North Houston. This role is ideal for someone passionate about driving innovation through AI and emerging technologies. You'll work directly with technology leadership to prototype new solutions, guide teams in adopting modern tools, and evolve the tech stack for seamless AI integration. This is a hands-on, strategic role with measurable impact across the organization.

Responsibilities

Prototype and evaluate new AI technologies and engineering approaches
Advise technical and business teams on tool adoption and integration
Collaborate with tech leads to evolve backend systems for AI readiness
Prioritize high-value use cases with measurable outcomes
Build front-end interfaces for proof-of-concept projects
Manage cloud infrastructure and CI / CD pipelines
Ensure secure API development and authorization using OAuth
Promote simplicity and scalability in AI architecture decisions

Required Skills & Experience

3+ years of programming experience in a team setting

Proficiency in one or more languages : Java, Scala, Python, Rust, TypeScript, Go

Experience with modern AI tools (personal or professional projects)

Cloud infrastructure expertise (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

Strong Kafka experience for streaming / messaging

Solid understanding of compute, storage, and backend fundamentals

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience for CI / CD deployment

API authorization and development experience (OAuth)

Comfortable building UIs / frontends for POCs (React preferred)

Nice to Have

Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP)

Hands-on implementation of ML or optimization projects

Experience deploying LLM-based tools in a business context
