On-Call Substitute Teacher

Overview

Description : The Samueli Academy Substitute Teacher has the opportunity to supervise and support students in their classes by following the lessons left by the teacher. Candidates must possess the ability to supervise and care for students from 7th to 12th grade while maintaining a structured, safe and educational environment.

Position Details

Position Title : On-Call Substitute Teacher

Employment Classification : Part-Time, Non-Exempt, Seasonal

Reports to : Office Manager

Responsibilities

• Follow lesson plans left by teacher.
• Maintain proper health and safety procedures on campus.
• Model professional behavior and attire.
• Model and implement positive reinforcement tools to assist in behavior modification.
• Assist with general housekeeping tasks, including sanitizing high-touch areas, organizing the classroom, etc.
• Communicate professionally and timely with staff supervisors.
• Follow and apply Samueli Academy policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Environment / Physical Requirements

Primarily a classroom environment. Physical requirements include standing, sitting, typing, bending, and lifting up to approximately 50 lbs. (i.e. tables, chairs, food, water, etc.).

Modification to work schedule may be made based on need of the Academy.
