Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Ultrasound Technologist Discipline : Allied Health Professional Start Date : 11 / 24 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift : 8 hours, days Employment Type : Travel Required Certifications ARDMS, ARRT, BLS Experience : Minimum 2 years required Must have : Vascular experience Preferred : Emergent OB experience Shift Notes No Holidays Or Call Allied Care Setting Acute Shift Length 8, 10 Guaranteed Hours 40 hours per week Ultrasound (Radiology) Department — Unit Notes Important : All paperwork due : Wednesday at NOON MST , the week before start date Permanent address requirement : Must be at least 25 miles from facility location Certification & Education Requirements Required : BLS Certifications : ARDMS (must have attended an accredited school; IBMC does not qualify ) Acceptable Registry : Will accept CCI-RVS registry for vascular ultrasound techs Department Overview Scanners / Rooms : 3 ultrasound rooms 4 mobile units Coverage Areas : Outpatient, inpatient, and ER Average Studies per Day : 30-35 exams (with 4-5 techs) Common Exams : General ultrasound vascular, thoracentesis, paracentesis, biopsies, FNAs Technology & Systems EMR : Epic PACS : Fuji RIS / PACS Equipment : Philips systems Staffing & Leadership Supervision : Lead Tech on day shift; one lead covers all areas on nights RRA (Registered Radiology Assistants) : None Radiologist Coverage : In-house : 8 AM-5 PM, Monday-Friday (2 radiologists) After hours : On call until midnight, then transferred to nightshift radiology Scheduling Details Shift Options : Days : 8s, 10s, or 12s (2-3 twelve-hour shifts typical) Nights : 4x10s and 3x12s (includes weekends) Weekend Requirement : Yes Holiday Coverage : Yes — travelers typically scheduled to cover perm staff Call Requirement : Yes — 30-minute response time Self / Block Scheduling : Not specified; flexibility emphasized Solo Coverage : May occur depending on shift Dress Code Scrubs : Hunter Green (provided) Jacket : Plain black allowed Undershirts : White, grey, black, or hunter green Orientation & Expectations Orientation : 3 days; not alone initially — skills assessed before independent work Culture & Soft Skills : Positive, team-oriented attitude "Eyes up" culture — greet everyone; minimal phone use Strong focus on patient experience and professionalism Flexibility is key!
