Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Med / Surg Tele position in an oncology-focused unit requiring a current MD or Compact RN license.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital Med / Surg Tele unit specializing in oncology patients
  • Night shift schedule : 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
  • Every other weekend required
  • Travelers are first to float within the hospital as needed
  • Experience caring for oncology patients is preferred
  • Block scheduling or specific schedule restrictions cannot be requested
  • Return travelers must have been away from the health system for at least 6 months
  • Former staff must have been separated for 12 months before returning as a traveler
  • Completion of online modules is required prior to start
  • One major holiday off may be granted during the winter season per unit policy
  • All requested time off must be included at the initial application and cannot be added or changed after offer
  • Extension contracts may be available, but a 6-month break is required before returning to the same facility or unit

    • Requirements

  • Active MD or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required
  • CPI certification required, Calm Every Storm online version accepted
  • Two satisfactory professional references are needed, including one from a supervisor or manager and one from a charge RN
  • Candidates must reside 50 miles or more from the hospital
  • Comfort with floating to appropriate units within the hospital required
