Your Mission
Your mission is to make Nuon the loudest and most credible voice in the BYOC space . Developer conversations about BYOC should start with Nuon, and you'll be the one helping us get there. You'll be the architect of Nuon's developer community and the voice that bridges our product with thousands of engineers. You will build our DevRel motion - creating the content, documentation, and experiences that will define how developers discover, learn, and succeed with Nuon. You'll be working at the intersection of technical depth and community building through demos, community building, and education, you'll position Nuon as the go-to resource for developers, enterprises, and the industry at large.
The Role
We're hiring our first Developer Advocate lead to connect with the developer and infrastructure community. This role blends advocacy, content creation, and community building . You'll represent Nuon at events, create demos and tutorials, and engage with developers online - showing the value of BYOC in action. You'll also act as a feedback loop to product and engineering, helping ensure Nuon is built with and for developers. This role requires exceptional technical chops, world-class communication skills, and the creativity to make complex integrations accessible and exciting.
What You'll Do
- Act as a subject matter expert for the Nuon advocacy and engineering team.
- Produce technical tutorials, building demos, public speaking, blogging, documentation, webinars, open source, and research reports that showcase Nuon's reputation as a leader in BYOC.
- Contribute to the product through feedback (bugs or product enhancement suggestions)
- Identify and pursue opportunities for events, programs, and other community-focused work that establishes trust with developers.
- Foster developer engagement across Slack / Discord, GitHub, and social platforms.
- Collect developer feedback and channel it to product / engineering to improve Nuon.
- Develop workshops, training sessions, and webinars that explain BYOC concepts and Nuon's workflows.
- Identify and document innovative ways developers use Nuon, helping shape the broader BYOC category.
Who You Are
5+ years of experience as a software developer, SRE, or other practitioner, including building and maintaining production systems.3+ years of experience as an advocate and / or equivalent experience e.g. skilled at reaching software developers across multiple channels, such as written content, conference talks, leading workshops, live streaming or recording videos, contributing to open source, and participating in community eventsStrong technical background - experience with Golang, Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).You have publicly available writing samples, blog posts, demos, or recordings of presentations on technical topics. Active in developer communities - GitHub, forums, social, or open-source contributions.Excellent communicator : strong writing, speaking, and live demo skills. Comfortable presenting at conferences or on video.Bonus points : you already have a developer following on social media!Location
Strong preference for San Francisco . (In-office 5 days a week).Open to exceptional remote candidates in the U.S.
