Direct Support Professional (DSP)

The Direct Care Worker will provide activities of daily living and programming services to individuals who reside in Community Residential Programs. The Direct Care Worker is responsible to help develop, implement, and maintain data, as well as assist in maintaining records and charts. In addition, this position performs housekeeping duties, administers medication, provides recreation and community activities, facilitates the utilization of special equipment and helps to coordinate activities and assignments of the shift.

• Physical Expectations

This position requires that employees are able to stand and or sit for prolonged periods of time. The employees must also be able to lift and transport consumers and perform all physical aspects of the job.

• Essential Duties and Responsibilities include
• but are not limited to the following :
• Responsible for the individuals well being.
• Assist participants with activities of daily living including toileting, grooming, oral hygiene, meal programs, and specialized medical needs as required.
• May administer medications and records same.
• Facilitation in the utilization of special equipment.
• Responds to changes in the individuals condition.
• Shall accompany residents to clinic appointments, outside programming, recreation programs, etc. as required.
• Shall be responsible to maintain staffing ratio by being available for mandatory overtime as required.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
• Participation with trans-disciplinary team in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the individuals program plan. All work must be supervised by a QIDP.
• Assist in the evaluation of the individuals skills.
• Actively implements programs designed by the trans-disciplinary team by following prescribed methodology.
• Shall be assigned individuals who live in the house and will have primary responsibility for the individuals progress.
• Maintains records and charts for each person by entering required information (goal, progress, temperatures, changes in behavior, clothing inventories and monthly summary for primary individuals).
• Works closely with the supervisory staff.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety of the residence and individual possessions by performing general housekeeping tasks (washing floor and surfaces, laundering individuals clothes, dusting, making beds cleaning cabinets, drawers, refrigerator, stove, etc).
• Conducts and / or participates in fire or evacuation drills.
• Prepares and / or assists in the preparation of meals for individuals by following cooking instructions, designated menus and portion control.
• Maintains records and logs for residence, etc.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Job Types : Full-time, Part-time

Pay : $16.05 per hour
