- Must be able to work Monday through Friday 6 : 30am - 3 : 15pm and occasional Saturdays.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Read work orders or production schedules to determine specificationsSet up, test, and adjust machines according to product specifications, using gauges and hand toolsPosition, align, and secure work pieces against fixtures or stops on machine beds or on diesStart machines, monitor their operations, and record operational dataMeasure completed work pieces to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulersExamine completed work pieces for defects and sort defective pieces according to types of flawsMaintain, clean, and lubricate machinesPerforms other activities as requested to meet departmental goalsComply with all OSHA and company safety rulesQualifications / Skills :
Minimum Education : High School Diploma or equivalent; diploma or degree in technical program preferredMinimum of 2 years of experience working in a machine shopRead and use conventional measuring toolsWorking knowledge of shop floor mathematics and measuring tools / equipmentAbility to interpret blueprints, sketches, GD&T, and other engineering specificationsUnderstand thread elements such as minor, major and pitch diameterKnow how and why to bore lathe soft jaws for work holdingCapable of identifying and selecting generic lathe tools and drillsAble to understand milling and drilling on the machine centersAble to use related manufacturing tools and equipmentAbility to work safely and efficientlyPhysical Requirements and Working Conditions :
