Develop positive rapport with students, parents & staff.
Have knowledge and skills in meeting the academic, social, and emotional growth of students.
Supervise students to ensure a safe, supportive, culturally responsive, equitable, and welcoming learning environment.
Monitor, advise, coach, and support student behavior management to ensure a safe, supportive, welcoming learning environment.
Provide individualized weekly interventions and instruction in reading, math, and other core academic areas, as well as various enrichment activities.
Create CLPs (Continuous Learning Plans) for each student and document progress to share with Coordinator and families.
Adapt teaching materials and methods to develop relevant assignments that guide and challenge students.
Assess, identify, and evaluate the needs of students; provide instruction in individual or group sessions; establish and maintain standards of behavior.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Brooklyn Center Community School (BCCS) seeks applicants for the LEAP / STEP Academic Instructor position, responsible for leading groups of up to 20 youth in enrichment activities such as youth leadership, art, music, entrepreneurship, etc.
Ideal candidates will possess skills to develop positive rapport, meet students' academic, social, and emotional needs, supervise students, provide interventions, create and document learning plans, adapt teaching methods, assess student needs, and perform other duties.
Hours vary : BCE 3-4pm or 4 : 30pm; BCS / ECA 7 : 45-8 : 30am and / or 4-5 or 5 : 30pm. Schedule varies, most Mondays- Thursdays, from September 8, 2025, to May 22, 2026.
Pay : $36.00 / hour. Requirements : Valid MN teaching license.
