A rewarding opportunity awaits a Primary Care / Family Care physician in a rural practice located in Southern Virginia near Emporia. This locum tenens role is within a primary care practice featuring rotating specialties. You'll be instrumental in maintaining care continuity for a diverse patient population during a period when the facility is without a provider. Enjoy a flexible schedule with three eight-hour shifts weekly, and engage with a wide range of patient demographics.

    • Job Responsibilities

  • Provide primary care services, including adult outpatient and newborn care
  • Perform general outpatient pediatric procedures
  • Conduct gynecological procedures such as pelvic exams and pap smears, if needed
  • Conduct minor surgical procedures including suturing and incision drainage
  • Manage uncomplicated adult psychiatric cases

    • Qualifications

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible
  • Active Virginia state medical license
  • Current BLS certification

    • Working Hours

  • Three eight-hour shifts weekly; exact days and times can be flexible based on provider availability

    • Skills

  • Proficiency in using Epic EMR for documentation
  • Ability to work independently in a rural setting
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with a diverse patient population
  • Competency in the required medical procedures
