Job description

Systems Administrator

We are seeking a Systems Administrator to join our team and support our mission critical customer in Reston, VA. As our Systems Administrator you will :

  • Plan, design, and implement infrastructure changes and system upgrades.
  • Manage and troubleshoot multiple VMware environments.
  • Provide Windows Server and Linux administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Create STIG compliant images for Windows Desktop, Windows Server, and Linux OS.
  • Create, test, and deploy software packages using software deployment products such as SCCM, PDQ, etc.
  • Provide expert level support and mentoring for Mid and Junior System Administrator personnel.
  • Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures for system and software changes.
  • Utilize scripting to automate common tasks.
  • Perform hardware maintenance / repair activities.
  • Ensure proper planning and execution of major projects / maintenance activities.
  • Provide advanced level administration and troubleshooting of Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP, and Domain Controllers.

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience related to specific functional area
  • Currently hold, or be able to attain a CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent IAT Level II
  • Experience and knowledge on :
  • Ability to write scripts using PowerShell and / or Bash.
  • Experience managing VMware, Nutanix, and other types of enterprise level Virtual Infrastructures.
  • Proficient in managing and troubleshooting Active Directory and Group Policy Object (GPO).
  • Working collaboratively across cross-functional teams of all experience levels
  • Monitoring and managing system resources, including CPU, storage, and other cloud resources to maintain operating efficiency performance.
  • Performing systems security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts.
  • Experience setting up administrator accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating resources for database and other application hosting.

    • Desired Qualifications :

  • Linux OS (CentOS, RHEL) administration.
  • Satellite server administration.
  • Ansible playbook writing.
  • Implementing STIGs.
  • Experience supporting a software configuration management and development environment.

  • TS / SCI with CI Poly minimum
