About the Role
We’re seeking a Supervising Wound Care Physician (MD) to lead and mentor Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) while delivering expert wound care in the field. What You’ll Do
Provide expert wound care – Diagnose and treat chronic and complex wounds, perform debridement, NPWT, tissue biopsies, and manage gastrostomy tubes.
Mentor & supervise – Train and support NPs and PAs while ensuring compliance with Idaho Board of Medicine regulations on mid-level provider supervision.
Lead quality care initiatives – Oversee compliance, patient safety, and best practices.
Collaborate across teams – Work with facility staff, patients, and leadership to enhance care delivery.
Drive innovation – Implement AI-driven tools and cutting-edge technologies to improve efficiency and patient care.

Idaho-Specific Requirements
Supervision of Mid-Level Providers :
Must enter into a Collaborative Practice Agreement with NPs.
Idaho limits the number of PAs a physician can supervise to four (4) at a time.
Required to review and co-sign a percentage of NP and PA patient charts monthly, as mandated by the Idaho Board of Medicine.
Must ensure mid-level providers adhere to Idaho’s prescribing laws, including supervision requirements for controlled substances.
Regulatory Compliance :
Idaho law requires supervising physicians to conduct periodic chart reviews and in-person evaluations for mid-level providers.
Must comply with Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (DHW) regulations regarding wound care in skilled nursing facilities.
Travel & Work Environment :
Extensive regional travel within Idaho; must have reliable transportation and a valid Idaho driver’s license.
Ability to work in skilled nursing facilities, long-term care centers, and private residences.
Who You Are
1. Licensed MD or DO in Idaho .
2. Board-certified in Surgery (preferred), OB / GYN, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine.
3. Wound care certification or experience (CWSP or CWS preferred, required within 6 months).
4. 3–6+ years of clinical experience , preferably in wound care or a related specialty.
5. Strong leadership & mentorship skills with experience supervising NPs / PAs under Idaho law .
6. Tech-savvy – Comfortable with EHR systems, telehealth platforms, and AI-powered tools .
7. Reliable transportation for travel within an assigned region ( 50–70 miles per day ).
