Associate Project Accountant

Job Overview : We are seeking a new Associate Project Accountant to join our team at Ardmore Roderick. As an Associate Project Accountant, you will join a team of infrastructure solutions experts working to solve our client's ever evolving project needs. This opportunity will be located in our Chicago Office and could have potential to be partly hybrid depending on the specific client, project and team needs.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Project set up and maintenance (rate table, budgets, contract management)
  • Ensure all invoices are recorded properly and timely to the correct projects, cost reports, and phase codes
  • Process AP vouchers
  • Assist with AR cash collection
  • Create accurate and timely project reporting
  • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues
  • Cost analysis and cost control (ownership and initiative for work performed)

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • 0-2 years of experience in an accounting centric role
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving
  • Good to great organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and programs
  • Team player mindset with the ability to communicate proficiently in written and verbal forms
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Advanced degree(s)
  • Experience within Engineering, commercial construction or a related industry
  • Working knowledge of construction accounting principles
  • Experience with subcontract agreements and lien waivers
  • Knowledge of Deltek's VantagePoint or Vision software
  • Past accounting related internships
