Job Description American Traveler is seeking an ICU RN with at least one prior travel assignment, ACLS / BLS, and multi-patient critical care expertise for 12-hour day shifts.
Responsibilities Work in a 20-bed ICU / CCU within an Advanced Care Unit
Care for patients with heart failure, respiratory distress, ACS, arrhythmias, DM, post-cath, surgical, and post-neuro cases
Typical ICU nurse-to-patient ratio is 2 : 1, with 1 : 1 for higher acuity
Occasional assignment to telemetry or step-down with 4 : 1 or 4–5 : 1 ratios depending on shift
Monitor and manage a variety of critical care drips and interventions including diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, nitro, and heparin
12-hour day shift schedule with every other weekend and holiday rotation
Uses Epic EMR, Alaris pumps, Omnicell, and Phillips monitors
Floating required to Telemetry, Med-Surg, and Neurology-Medical units, with travelers first to float
Join a multidisciplinary team including CNAs, HUCs, phlebotomy, IV / VAT team, hospitalists, telemetry techs, respiratory therapy, and intensivist support
RNs review and chart on telemetry strips for assigned patients
Unit support includes phlebotomy and respiratory therapy available 24 / 7
Two-shift unit-based orientation in addition to general hospital onboarding
Required scrub attire is any professional color

Previous travel experience highly valued and required
Requirements Active WA or compact RN license in hand or proof of application if pending
Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
Minimum of two years recent ICU experience required
Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment (no first-time travelers)
Proficiency with chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, and femoral sheath monitoring
EMR experience with Epic strongly preferred
Art line, Impella, and IABP experience preferred
