Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : Nursing Specialty : Progressive Care Unit Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night Hours per Shift : 12 Experience : Minimum of 2 years in the specialty required License : Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice Certifications : Basic Life Support certification required Must-Have : ICU, Step Down, or Progressive Care level experience Must be able to handle ventilators and titratable drips. Must be able to operate in a 3 : 1 patient to nurse ratio in acuity. Description : Delivers coordinated nursing care for an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff. Coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking and professional discretion. Analyzes the assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues. Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes. Implements the plan and coordinates care delivery while promoting health and a safe environment. Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes and identifies outcomes for the patient or the patient’s situation. Collaborates with the patient, family, and healthcare providers in providing care in a safe and caring environment. Provides learning opportunities for patients and family members. Participates in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care. Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties of healthcare team members. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
