Registered Nurse RN - Adult Clinic

Hours : full-time (37.5 hours per week), Monday through Friday, 9 : 30 a.m. - 5 : 00 p.m.

Location : Landover Wellness Center, Lynchburg, VA 24501

Compensation dependent on experience

Position Summary

Registered Nurses (RN) working in the Horizon's Clinics are responsible for the overall medical care of assigned adult clients, including the service delivery of basic nursing assessments; delivery of client / family education and diagnostic procedures; consultation with physicians; and carrying out of doctor's orders.

Required Education and Experience

• Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program and a licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Virginia or an appropriate multi-state license. BSN preferred.
• One year of experience providing nursing services as an RN is required. May consider LPN experience for a Registered Nurse who worked as an LPN prior to becoming an RN; however, LPN experience will not be credited toward RN compensation determinations.

Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of community mental health and public health in order to provide advocacy and enhance an individual's treatment and access to community resources. Knowledge of nursing best practices. Knowledge of the principles, procedures, techniques, trends, and literature related to mental health, physical health, intellectual disabilities and substance abuse. Knowledge of psychiatric / medical medications / treatments.

Willing and available to work modified schedules (weekends, holidays, etc.) as required. Ability to drive and must possess a valid driver's license. May be called upon to travel to any Horizon worksite; transport clients, and provide services to clients at other locations. Regular attendance at trainings and Horizon meetings may require travel to a variety of Horizon sites; the ability to participate in and successfully pass behavioral intervention training, including both verbal de-escalation skills and physical skills techniques to be utilized with consumers as needed.
