The People Generalist is a detail-oriented, resourceful People professional who enjoys variety in their work and being at the center of all things employee experience. This role knows how to balance structure with flexibility and can shift comfortably between people-facing work and system-driven tasks. The Generalist understands the rhythm of a software company and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly—from recruiting and onboarding to engagement programs to maintaining clean, accurate data in the HRIS.

The People Generalist is curious, approachable, and proactive, always looking for ways to make the employee experience a little better each day.

What You Will Do : Responsibilities :

  • Core HR :

Serve as the primary administrator for our HRIS (ADP Workforce Now) ensuring accurate and timely data entry for job changes, new hires, terminations, and organizational updates.

  • Own the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, orientation, I-9 verification, engagement touchpoints, and offboarding.
  • Partner with department leaders to ensure onboarding plans and employee transitions are seamless and well-coordinated.
  • Administer and manage employee engagement and recognition programs (Bonusly, Snappy, Wellable) including setup, maintenance, and usage reporting.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on policies, leaves of absence, conduct or capability concerns, and other People-related matters, escalating when outside of scope.
  • Maintain electronic employee records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection and record retention standards.
  • Participate in policy communication, handbook maintenance, and HR documentation updates.
  • Coordinate employee communications, recognition gestures, and People-related logistics that enhance engagement and reinforce company culture.
  • Support compliance initiatives and HR audits, including employment eligibility and document reviews.
  • Partner with the VP of People on projects and process improvements that strengthen the employee experience, streamline operations, and advance People team effectiveness.
  • Recruiting :
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for open roles — from posting and sourcing to screening, coordinating interviews, and extending offers.

  • Partner with hiring managers to deliver an organized, candidate-friendly hiring experience.
  • Support and maintain accurate recruiting metrics and dashboards.
  • Perform any other duties needed to help drive our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Values.
  • What You Will Bring :

    Required Skills :

Proven experience managing or maintaining an HRIS, preferably ADP Workforce Now.

  • Familiarity with JazzHR, LinkedIn Recruiter, and HR data management.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of HR practices and compliance requirements across onboarding, leave management, employment law, and employee relations.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through — keeping systems accurate and employees informed.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze situations, make sound judgments, and propose practical solutions.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and navigating evolving priorities with confidence and adaptability.
  • Clear, approachable communication style with the ability to build trust and maintain confidentiality.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Preferred Skills (Nice-to-haves) :

Experience supporting employee engagement and wellness programs.

  • Exposure to payroll or benefits processes (data entry, reporting, or audit support).
  • Prior experience in a software or technology company environment.
  • Experience :

3–5 years of experience in a People Generalist or HR Generalist role with exposure to the full employee lifecycle.

    Physical Requirements :

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
