Job Summary And Responsibilities
As a RN at CHI LakeWood Health, you will implement the nursing process across the continuum of care by providing and coordinating patient care, education, and emotional support to patients and their family members.

Essential Functions
Responsible for the daily care of the patient including assessments, treatments, medications, education and discharge planning. Develops, implements and modifies the patient care plan as indicated by patient’s conditions and responses. Uses multidisciplinary team strategies to resolve patient problems
Administer medications using bar code scanning
Respectful and effective communication with all patient populations, physicians, and across all areas of continuum of care
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with Safe Patient Handling techniques
Maintains continuity among nursing teams by accurate hand off and documentation in the EMR
Knowledge of and implementation of isolation techniques
Ensures operation of equipment by completing competency checklists; sequestering and completing appropriate TEAM requests for malfunctioning equipment. Evaluates new equipment, follows safety guidelines for clinical devices
Assures quality of care by adhering to quality control requirements
Initiation and Management of IV therapy; safely administers blood and blood products per facility protocol
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by completion of LEARN assignments, attending mandatory in-services, annual competencies, and educational assignments to maintain and further the profession of nursing and personal growth
Maintains acceptable clinical standards (AORN, AAMI, APIC, ACS, etc.)
Demonstrates professionalism when working with physicians and other providers
Dependable for scheduled shifts
Facilitates and assists in the coordination of patient discharge and referrals
Participates in the orientation and training of new personnel Directs and supervises less-skilled nursing or healthcare personnel

On call every 4th weekend, every 4th holiday, and one to two days weekly
Ability to work with a wide variety of people and educational backgrounds

Flexibility and ability to adjust to change
Must be within 20 minutes of hospital when on call
Job Requirements
Registered Nurse Degree from a recognized college or university
Registered Nurse : MN (RN : MN)
Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR)
