PRIMARY PURPOSE :
Contribute to the efficient operation of the Child Nutrition Department by preparing accurate and timely payroll records and related reports using prescribed procedures and regulations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Certification Requirements
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check
Special Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of basic accounting proceduresAbility to maintain accurate and auditable recordsAbility to use calculator (10-key by touch)Ability to use personal computer and software to create spreadsheets, databases, and do word processingProficiency in typing, keyboarding, and file maintenanceAbility to work with numbers in accurate and rapid mannerAbility to communicate effectivelyAbility to meet established deadlinesBilingual preferredExperience :

Maintain employee payroll information confidentialityMaintain and uphold customer serviceAssist in the preparation of biweekly and monthly payrollsReview timesheets for accurate reportingPrepare and balance Supplemental Pay ReportsProvide training to new personnel for payroll mattersEnsure employees are reimbursed for required trainingAssist with preparing student meal account refundsPerform other duties as assigned, based on department needsMust complete designated district technology proficiencies each yearRequires a basic knowledge of technology / computer skillsAbility to use personal computer to access district programs, emails, and other resourcesMaintain a consistent professional demeanor and appearanceEnsure compliance with the Texas Educator's Code of EthicsDaily attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of the jobPlan ahead for holidays and school breaks, even when the district is closed, in order to meet deadlines.Supervisory Responsibilities :
