POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for development, management, and retention of a quality Ag and/or Commercial loan portfolio. Assists with building full banking relationships with customers, including referrals to other areas of the bank based on customer needs. Performs routine duties with minimal supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: - Originates, services, and monitors Ag and/or Commercial loan accounts within established loan policy guidelines.
- Calls on potential or existing customers to develop new business and increase or retain existing business, including cross-selling and sales referrals to all areas of the bank as necessary. Position requires outside sales calls.
- Interviews new loan applicants, collects applicants' financial information, and analyzes financial information to determine creditworthiness of the applicants.
- Monitors creditworthiness of existing customers. Collects and analyzes information through direct inspection of the applicant's business and/or collateral, review of financial reports, personal interview, and other means.
- Follows bank procedures to identify, report, and/or collect problem accounts.
- Establishes and negotiates terms under which credit will be extended. (Including costs, repayment methods and schedule, collateral requirements, and any additional terms.)
- Develops material for and presents loan request to Loan Committee when request exceeds personal lending limit.
- Ensures customer retention and revenue generation while staying in accordance with loan policy guidelines and underwriting standards. Ability to accurately interpret Federal laws, State laws, and banking regulations to maintain overall compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of all MBT products and services and makes referrals to MBT Insurance, MBT Investments, and Retail Bankers as appropriate.
- Projects a positive presence of MBT Bank in the marketplace through sales calls and participation in community activities and marketing events.

Requirements
- Education:
- Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in business, finance, or accounting

- Three or more years credit or banking experience

- Computer Skills:
- Proficiency in the use of basic office equipment, 10-key calculator, keyboarding, Microsoft Office, web-based software, banking software, and overall computer navigation.
