Pharmacy Specialist
The Clinical Specialists provides distributive and clinical pharmacy services to the inpatients and outpatients of the Medical University Hospitals and clinics.
The position of Clinical Pharmacy Specialist requires a doctoral degree in Pharmacy from an ACPE Accredited School of Pharmacy. Completion of a clinical pharmacy residency program : Two years of clinical or hospital pharmacy experience may substitute for the clinical pharmacy residency program.
SC Pharmacist License (or eligible for SC Pharmacist License) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification : Must be BLS Certified within three months of hire date and maintain certification throughout employment.

Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs., unassisted. Ability to lift / lower objects from floor level to height of 36 inches, to 50 lbs., unassisted. Ability to lift from 36 inches overhead 50 lbs. unassisted. Ability to push / pull objects to 50 lbs., unassisted. Ability to maintain 20 / 40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand. Ability to match or discriminate between colors. Ability to determine distance / relationship between objects; depth perception. Good peripheral vision capabilities. Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with corrections. Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements. Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required. Ability to use automated mixing equipment. Ability to work overtime as required. Ability to work in a latex safe environment. Ability to maintain tactile sensory functions. Ability to maintain good olfactory sensory function.
Minimum Training and Education : Doctor of Pharmacy or a Bachelor's degree in pharmacy. Completion of a pharmacy residency preferred. Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations : Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
