JOB DESCRIPTION QA AUDITOR

Classification : Non-Exempt Reports to : Quality Manager Date : April 2025

Objective : Conducts audits of Company projects and processes to assess compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and guidelines; Arkay policies and procedures; and contractual and other project-specific commitments made to customers.

Essential Functions

3rd Shift

• Verify machine setup referencing the “Gluing Production Check List”
• Sample / inspect finished goods for pass / fail defects
• Decide “Allow / Hold” disposition referencing MIL-STD-105
• Communicate conformance results to Finishing Department stakeholders
• Seek guidance as needed from Quality Assurance authorized personnel
• Become proficient performing the Quality Assurance Audit process
• Become proficient performing the Examiner process
• Test / Sample production lots for compliance to customer specifications and Arkay standards. Refer to : MIL-STD-105 Sampling procedures
• Develop the ability to discern “Pass Or Fail” status in relation to MIL-STD-105 sampling procedures
• Develop the ability to make “Allow” vs ”Hold” disposition decisions
• Provide direction and support to Quality Assurance Examiners and other personnel as needed
• Audit processes, procedures and data for compliance as defined by customer specifications and Arkay procedures Manual and communicate results to QA Supervisor, Manager and Director
• Provide concise and complete documentation when carrying out Auditing process
• Recertify aged goods as requested by Shipping Department
• Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to : job separating; flat packing; relabeling.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness of the plant, inside and out

Competencies

Supervisory Responsibility : This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in an office environment as well as on the production floor, interacting with other employees. It is fast-paced and requires positive and professional social interaction. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms and use fingers to type and operate a mouse. Vision abilities include : close vison, peripheral vision, depth perception, color identification and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to speak, write, type and hear. Proper and safe use of pallet jack and weigh scales, The employee may frequently lift and / or move items up to 35 pounds.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and regular hours are Monday through Friday. Overtime may be required when production schedules dictate.

Travel : The need to travel is minimal for this position.

Required Education and Experience :

High school diploma / GED and at least 1 year of auditing experience in a production environment.

Preferred Education and Experience :

QA experience in the folding carton industry.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications :

Legally eligible to work in the United States and successful completion of background and drug screens.
