The Opportunity

As Kitchen Leader, you will learn how to prepare great food, grill meats, and sauté vegetables. You are responsible for making sure our food is absolutely delicious. You'll order the food and train others to become future Kitchen Leaders.

The Kitchen Leader helps ensure the quality and safety of Chipotle's food every day. They ensure the kitchen is clean, organized and well stocked; that the equipment is properly maintained and in good condition; and that crew members are learning to become future Kitchen Leaders. At its core, this role promotes teamwork and creates a great customer experience. While on the clock, Kitchen Leaders stay busy, accomplish their station's goals, take on tasks that need to get done, and pitch in to help teammates.

What You'll Do

  • In addition to following Chipotle's policies and procedures, principal responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
  • Ensure food quality by cooking and prepping food to order, and following kitchen procedures
  • Monitor food waste and inventory levels, and resolve food quality issues
  • Support a strong team dynamic between back-of-house Crew and front-of-house Crew
  • Develop Crew members to be future Kitchen Leaders
  • Communicate with Crew members and customers effectively to ensure great customer service and throughput
  • Ensure the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized
  • Monitor kitchen equipment and ensure it is kept in good repair; ensure malfunctioning equipment is repaired quickly
  • Ensure the kitchen and all Crew members meet safety guidelines to prevent injuries or accidents
  • Fill out Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Inventory Rotation (FIFO)

    Below is the base pay range for this position, which is also eligible for digital tips. Actual base pay may vary depending on skill level, experience and / or education.
