Travel Surgical Tech/ORT - CST FA

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical First Assistant with a minimum of 2 years of experience and independent Da Vinci Robot proficiency for a hospital OR position in Richmond, VA.

Job Details

• Hospital operating room setting specializing in robotics, spine, ortho, laparoscopic, general, gynecologic, urology, vascular, thoracic, pediatrics, hybrid cases, ENT, plastics, and bariatrics,
• Patient population spans all ages, including pediatrics,
• Candidates must be proficient across most surgical specialties,
• Schedule is 8-hour day shifts, Mon-Fri, 6:45am-3:15pm,
• Call requirement includes 6 on-call shifts and one weekend within each 6-week period,

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical First Assistant,
• Independent Da Vinci Robot experience required,
• Pediatric surgical experience required,
• Prior travel experience strongly preferred,
• Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting,
• BLS certification required,
• CFA or CSA certification required,
• Active Virginia (VA) license required if applicable,
• Proof of address (e.g., Driver's License, Voter Registration card, Federal Tax Return, Military Form 2058, or W2) required for consideration,
• 1 supervisory reference required for consideration,
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Responsible for patient positioning, holding retraction for exposure, tying sutures, assisting with dressing application, and closing the skin,
• Sets up the operating room with necessary equipment prior to procedure start time and assists with room turnover and supply restocking,
• Maintains sterile technique throughout all procedures,
• Works closely with the charge nurse for assignments and serves as a resource person for procedures,

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position,
