Position Summary
As a Substation Protection and Control Lead Technician in the electric utility industry, you will be responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of substation equipment that protects and controls the flow of electricity in the power grid. The Substation P&C Lead Technician will manage and lead a Substation P&C crew, identify and meet schedule demands, and have knowledge of devices and equipment including but not limited to digital relays, electromechanical relays, intelligent electronic devices, Station Disturbance Recorders (SDR), digital fault recorders (DFR), oscillographs and event recorders, RTUs and station SCADA systems, statistical load metering, telemetering and transducers. Additionally, understand the installation, maintenance and operation of all power line carriers (PLC), tone, pilot wire, fiber and associated P&C communications equipment.
