POSITION SUMMARY
The SEO Manager (Search Engine Optimization) develops, implements, and manages the search strategy for client listings on retailer product detail pages and other relevant platforms to increase and drive organic traffic and to identify high ranking keywords to support paid search strategy. The ideal candidate is well versed in SEO at the tactical, strategic, and operational levels, and has a proven track record of both functional optimization excellence and client-facing strategic planning.
This will be an independent contractor.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Defines high-ranking keywords and performs ongoing keyword discovery, expansion, and improvement.
- Researches keywords on search tools and performs category and competitive analysis.
- Partners with copy and creative teams to provide data-driven direction and recommendations for optimizing copy and content strategy.
- Ensures accurate, consistent, and timely completion of search assignments.
- Acts as SEO strategy and activation expert in internal planning meetings to bolster case studies, RFPs, project planning documents and client recommendations.
- Represents the agency’s SEO function in front of clients, clearly connecting strategies and recommendations back to client objectives.
- Meets quality standards for all assigned deliverables and makes recommendations to management for improvements in textual content, tools, processes and / or assigned tasks.
- Supports Company’s profitability efforts by focusing on the efficient, accurate, and timely completion of the assigned activities.
- Develops client search strategies and analysis for retail eCommerce.
- Performs competitive site and content analysis.
- Aids in on-site content strategy sessions with recommendations.
- Conducts client audits to understand the health of their brand’s identity on digital platforms.
- Audits and improves the technical implementation of a client’s website, including tagging structure.
- Stays up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, evolving SEO strategies accordingly.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing or related field5+ years demonstrated SEO experienceProficiency in SEO tools and platforms such as Helium 10, SEMrush, Google Analytics, or similar toolsExcellent knowledge of search engine and retailer algorithms, as well as ranking factorsExpertise in retailer search (Amazon, Walmart, Target, etc.)Solid understanding of retailer space and conversionIn-depth experience with retailer search tools and Google AnalyticsKnowledge of retailer scorecards and search algorithmsOccasional travel either locally, nationally, and / or internationally may be requiredHigh degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applicationsStrong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, & planning skillsStrong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clientsAbility to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environmentAbility to work with and influence peers and managementSelf-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reportingPHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
