Deer Camp Digital is an Austin-based digital agency specializing in hunting, fishing, and outdoor brands industry. We manage a growing portfolio of client websites and are building an in-house hosting and SEO platform.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced WordPress / Hosting Infrastructure Architect to design, implement, and document a scalable environment for our client websites. This is a project-based role (30–40 hours over 3–4 weeks) with a fixed fee. If successful, we may engage you on future architecture and scaling projects. We will start with 5 or so websites first.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineer and configure a production-grade hosting environment under Deer Camp’s ownership (Vultr / RunCloud, WP Engine, or equivalent).
- Set up Cloudflare DNS / SSL / WAF, uptime monitoring, daily backups, and staging workflows.
- Define and document a repeatable migration process; execute first two client site migrations.
- Standardize GA4 + Search Console setup, and deliver a Looker Studio reporting template.
- Create clear SOPs (server scaling, migrations, maintenance, incident response).
- Train our offshore WebOps Lead on day-to-day operation.
Requirements
5+ years WordPress infrastructure experience (multi-site management, migrations, performance tuning).Deep familiarity with Cloudflare, DNS, SSL, caching, and CWV optimization.Proven track record of architecting scalable, secure WordPress hosting environments.Comfortable producing professional SOPs and handing off to non-senior operators.Strong communicator, reliable, and detail-oriented.Deliverables
Infrastructure setup complete, owned 100% by Deer Camp (all accounts and credentials).2 client sites successfully migrated and live on new stack.Tested daily backup + restore workflow.GA4 + GSC installed and reporting.Documentation package and live training session for WebOps Lead.Compensation
Project fee (negotiable, $3,000–$5,000 range depending on scope).
