Buncombe County is hiring an Administrative Coordinator II to support the Emergency Services Department. This position reports directly to the Emergency Services Director and plays a key role in supporting the department's seven divisions which manage a broad range of emergency response and public safety responsibilities.
Our office is located at 164 Erwin Hills Road. This position is 8 : 00 to 5 : 00 and will start in person. Over time, a hybrid schedule will be allowed once the employee becomes familiar with the role and demonstrates reliability. Experience in governmental budget and accounting practices is highly preferred.
Purpose of the position :
The primary purpose of this position is to provide general administrative support in a variety of areas such as, but not limited to, financial management, budget preparation, purchasing, contract administration and monitoring, personnel, general administration, and special projects.
Minimum Education, Training and / or Experience (required at time of hire) : Associate degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in related field and three (3) years of administrative support, management, or closely related experience; or equivalent combination of education or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered in meeting the minimum qualifications.
Additional Training and Experience : Two (2) to three (3) years of governmental budget and accounting experience preferred.
