COTA will provide services to inpatients, outpatients and for patient populations in which WRHS has entered into a contractual agreement with. This may include public schools, nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Staff member will be licensed in accordance with state laws and requirements. Job duties will include helping patients perform exercises or treatment plans, recording a patients’ health and progress, collecting patients’ medical history, and assisting with arranging plan of care for patients. Occupational Therapy Assistants are responsible for treating patients with therapeutic activities, exercise, and self care tasks, and modalities as deemed appropriate per OTR.
COTA is required to work in accordance with medical staff and fellow ancillary staff within the rehab department.
