The Role in Brief :
National Accounts Principal
The National Accounts Principal interacts with partner institutions on a daily basis as the executive ‘face of EAB’ and serves as a strategic advisor to leadership teams. The Principal partners with partners, understands their institutional idiosyncrasies and priorities, and aligns EAB growth (and renewal) strategies appropriately.
This role may be based out of EAB’s Washington, D.C. office; Richmond, VA office; or open to remote work within the continental U.S. This role is aligned to Managing Director level at EAB.
Primary Responsibilities :
Partner-Based Growth Strategist
- Develops account-level plans to drive principled growth strategies based upon partner needs and priorities, as well as firm interests
- Leverages partner knowledge and relationships to proactively identify sales opportunities and support / execute commercial activities to drive on-going revenue and contract value growth
- Collaborates with commercial teams by prioritizing growth opportunities, facilitating access and supporting successful sales / renewal outcomes
- Displays creative judgment in orchestrating holistic integration of renewal and new business efforts
Executive ‘Face of EAB’
Competent at representing EAB’s offerings (at a high-level) across Research, Technology and Enrollment ServicesUnderstands and can articulate key EAB perspectives with regard to enrollment strategy, student success and drivers of institutional successDevelops comprehensive long-term holistic plans for building EAB value (in partnership with Partner Success organization) and commercial relationshipCultivates CXO loyalty and trust leading to embeddedness and growthFunctions as an executive strategic advisor to partnersOriginates and hosts VIP Days (as appropriate) to drive contract growth, solidify relationships and stabilize current revenue streamsSpends at least 80% of time in the market, both in-person (estimated 60% of time) and virtuallyPartner Expert and Advocate
Consistently reports back to key EAB stakeholders (ie Success, New Product Development, Research, Delivery) on partner intelligence and partner feedbackWhen appropriate, serves as point of escalation for renewal issuesBasic Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College / UniversityMust possess a minimum of 10-12+ years’ post undergrad experience in at least two of the following :Commercial experiencePresentation experienceLeadership experienceClient Management experienceProven network with CXOs in the education industryDemonstrated negotiation skillsDemonstrated listening skillsAbility to communicate effectively, both oral and written, with senior executivesProven team collaboration experienceProven staff management experienceWillingness to travel up to 60%Valid Driver’s LicenseIdeal Qualifications :

Compensation :
The compensation package for this role includes a starting salary (base) range of $130,500 - $177,000 per year plus eligibility for uncapped variable compensation. The anticipated total earnings are $230,500 - $277,000 at target levels of performance against commercial goals in a full and typical fiscal year, with lucrative uncapped earning potential to reward overperformance. Actual salary and on-target earnings vary due to factors that may include but not be limited to relevant experience, skills, and location. At EAB, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the starting range for their role.
