EPC Services Company, a leading power / utility engineering consultant and construction firm, has immediate openings for Electrical Test Engineers and Senior Test Engineers for projects in Hawaii. The successful candidates will join a team that performs testing and maintenance on medium and high voltage systems. Travel is a significant part of the job.

Responsibilities

Test Engineer duties include medium and high voltage apparatus testing and functional verification of control, protection, and alarm circuits. Senior Test Engineers are also expected to provide setting and testing of protective relays and functional verification of control, protection, and alarm circuits. Test Engineers must have a thorough understanding of Doble, Fluke, and other test equipment operation, be able to read and interpret test results, and be familiar with IEEE standards and ANSI / IEEE system device function numbers. They must also be familiar with the latest version of NETA Acceptance Testing Specification (ATS) and NETA Maintenance Testing Specification (MTS). Senior Test Engineers must demonstrate a thorough understanding of substation physical drawings, equipment wiring diagrams, and substation control schematics, and be able to explain substation protection philosophy for feeder, breaker failure, bus, transformer, capacitor bank, and distance protection.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements : BSEE, BSME, or BSEEET degree; 6-10 years experience for Senior Test Engineer or equivalent combination of education and experience. Senior Test Engineers must be able to obtain NICET Level III certification, have a strong understanding of safe work practices, excellent organizational skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, working knowledge of test equipment, and a valid drivers license. The successful applicant will be subject to client?mandated drug and background checking and must comply with EPC Services Companys auto insurance carrier requirements. Applicants must not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future.
