Role Description

Join Form Energy's Advanced Manufacturing team as a Senior Material Flow Equipment Engineer. You will own the end-to-end design, implementation, and optimization of highly automated, scalable material flow systems-including AGVs, AMRs, conveyors, and ASRS-critical for high-volume electrode manufacturing of our Iron-Air battery. This role is essential for driving operational excellence and is based at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV.

This role is based out of Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV. Relocation assistance is available.

What you'll do :

• Own the full lifecycle of complex material flow and process equipment, from concept development and detailed engineering design through commissioning and production handover.
• Design, deploy, and specify fully automated material handling solutions (AGV, AMR, VRC, ASRS, conveyors, robotics), ensuring compliance with factory layout, safety, and ergonomic standards.
• Develop system architecture, capacity, and throughput models, utilizing Discrete Event Simulation (DES) tools like FlexSim to validate technical feasibility and optimize CAPEX / OPEX.
• Lead end-to-end program management, including scope definition, RFQ development, vendor selection, budget oversight, schedule tracking, and rigorous FAT / SAT testing.
• Define and standardize fleet management, path optimization, and traffic control strategies for AGV / AMR systems to ensure robust and scalable automation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate automation with MES, WMS, and PLC-based control systems.
• Analyze operational performance data (OEE, throughput) to identify bottlenecks, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and enhance system reliability and uptime.
