Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our finance team. In this role, you will manage cash and credit posting, account reconciliations, and collections to maintain accurate financial records and support timely cash flow. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and possesses strong communication skills to effectively interact with both internal teams and customers.
Key Responsibilities
Process and post manual and electronic cash receipts, credits, and account adjustments to customer accounts.
Monitor and apply daily payments accurately in accordance with customer remittance details.
Maintain and reconcile daily deposit records with bank statements.
Identify and resolve discrepancies in account postings, escalating issues when necessary.
Review lockbox reports and bank images to ensure proper posting and reconciliation.
Communicate with customers to resolve payment disputes, collect outstanding balances, and enforce credit policies.
Assess account balances for risk, recommending actions such as credit holds or escalations.
Post account adjustments within authorized limits and ensure all financial transactions are completed before month-end close.
Prioritize accounts for collections based on aging and outstanding balances, using effective communication strategies.
Support audits and prepare reports as needed to ensure compliance with internal controls.
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts receivable, cash applications, or a related accounting function.
Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes, including collections, cash applications, and reconciliations.
Proficient in financial systems and tools for account management, payment posting, and reporting.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for interactions with customers and internal stakeholders.
Ability to work independently, identify discrepancies, and resolve complex financial issues.
High attention to detail and accuracy in processing financial transactions.
