American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an LDRP position in a Level 2 trauma acute care setting, requiring 3 years of recent LDRP experience and current specialty certifications.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an acute care LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) unit of a Level 2 trauma centerUnit includes 7 Labor & Delivery beds, 12 Postpartum beds, 8 Surgical beds, 1 dedicated C-section OR, 2 GYN ORs, and 3 triage baysPatient population includes obstetric, antepartum, L&D, postpartum, post-surgical patients, including higher-risk cases such as MgSO4 and pre-eclampsiaAverage annual births : 643Staffing ratios follow AWHONN guidelines : L&D 1 : 1-2, Postpartum 1 : 2-3 couplets, surgical / medical 1 : 3-4Common responsibilities include titrating drips (pitocin, mag, insulin) and scrub roles (preferred)Uses Epic for documentationRotating 12-hour shifts (7a-7p, 7p-7a), scheduled every 6 weeks, with every third weekend requiredFloating may occur to Peds MS, NICU, Med / Surg, PCU, ICU, ED, and Psych units as neededSurgical scrubs are providedTravelers are expected to integrate quickly into the team and are supported by dedicated charge nurses, OB scrub techs, and unit clerksUnit features OB and Neonatology provider coverage on-call 24 / 7, with anesthesia in-house 24 / 7Holiday coverage as needed per hospital policyFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyUp to 7 days requested time off (RTO) permitted per contract, must be declared up front; additional RTO will not be approvedDepartment is noted for high patient satisfaction scoresTwo 12-hour unit-specific orientation shifts are provided\n \n Requirements\n
Active ND state or compact RN license at time of consideration; pending licenses not acceptedCurrent BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certifications required; AWHONN Advanced and STABLE preferredMinimum 3 years of recent LDRP experience requiredAbility to titrate drips and provide postpartum and surgical carePrevious charge nurse experience not required; traveler will not be chargePrior use of Epic EMR preferred but not requiredMust not have been employed (FT, PT, or PRN) by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities in the past yearCandidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility\n Benefits\n
