Divisional Director of Resident Care
LakeHouse Senior Living invites applicants for the Divisional Director of Resident Care role. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Support Services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community leaders and agencies to support resident needs aligned with the clinical department’s strategic plan.
- Collaborate with executive leaders to identify and respond to clinical department needs.
- Implement and interpret department programs, goals, policies, and procedures, providing analytical data on key performance metrics.
- Performs proficiently in all nursing competency areas in assisted living and memory care settings, including direct resident care, family support, resident rights, and safety.
- Identify high-risk resident conditions or events and implement scalable response measures.
- Develop and provide education to Regional Director of Resident Care and Resident Care Specialist in collaboration with national education teams.
- Support company-wide policies and practices developed by Discovery.
- Monitor effectiveness of systems across departments through formal and informal on-site visits such as preparatory process reviews, simulated surveys, and virtual interfaces.
- Provide on-site and virtual support during company acquisitions.
- Involved in the development and implementation of clinical programming.
- Oversee clinical quality assurance programs, survey readiness, risk mitigation measures, and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Serve as a member of clinical and risk management committees.
- Develop and manage vendor partnerships and standardization across the management company to enhance resident care quality.
- Monitor and supervise departmental budget compliance.
Resident Care and Regulatory Compliance
Monitor resident care policies and procedures in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.Guide development and improvement of clinical policies, procedures, and programs.Implement changes to meet regulatory requirements.Participate in incident and risk scenario reviews to safeguard residents and mitigate liability.Ensure timely entry and investigation of incidents and accidents.Collaborate with disciplines to reduce risk and champion infection control.Manage communication with public health departments as required.Oversee resident pre-admission and denial processes.Evaluate care assessments for accuracy and compliance.Support a learning culture using data and innovation for evidence-based solutions.Participate in hiring and onboarding of key team members.Maintain a professional development system for regional directors and.Support continuing education for nursing leadership and clinical skills.Monitor training compliance and collaborate on staffing and budget planning.Track regulatory outcomes and guide performance improvement plans.Clinical Risk Management, Safety, and Infection Control
Guide quality rounds and compliance audits at communities, providing feedback to minimize liability and risk.Monitor key performance indicator data for quality trends.Develop corrective action plans with regional and operational leaders.Provide clinical expertise during site visits.Monitor overall resident care department operations and conduct community reviews as needed.Occupancy Development
Investigate resident and family complaints.Resolve grievances and monitor compliance with resident rights policies.Lead interdisciplinary teams to improve quality-of-care delivery.Collaborate with sales team to support occupancy initiatives.Leadership Development
Promote a learning culture leveraging data and innovation.Participate in hiring of key team members.Provide onboarding, orientation, and ongoing development under national education direction.Maintain professional development system for regional directors and specialists.Support continuous education and nursing leadership development.Complete required company training.Monitor training compliance.Collaborate on staffing, labor budgets, and occupancy targets.Participate in annual budget process.Champion company culture.Perform other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of clinical practice, operational procedures, and applicable laws and regulations in assisted living and memory care settings.Strong understanding of assisted living and memory care operations.Proficiency in EMR / EHR and physician practice management software.Ability to gather and analyze data.Language ability to communicate effectively with residents and read safety and operating instructions.Mathematical skills for basic calculations.Cognitive demands for instruction application.Computer skills in Microsoft Office and learning new applications.Competencies : interest in aging adults, courteous interaction, prompt response to resident needs, support organization values, balance team and individual responsibilities, manage priorities, delegate, demonstrate judgment, decision-making, and flexible scheduling.Environmental Adaptability
Frequent travel required.Work primarily indoors in a climate-controlled setting.Exposure to blood and / or body fluids and hazardous materials.Possible exposure to unpleasant odors and chemicals.Qualifications
Registered Nurse in good standing, licensed by the state.Bachelor-level healthcare degree required; master’s preferred.5+ years of senior living experience in a leadership role.BLS Certification.Experience in multi-state and multi-community support.Benefits
