BUILDING ENGINEER / FACILITIES MANAGER– HOUSTON, TEXAS

Our client is a privately held commercial real estate investment firm specializing in value-add acquisitions across office, industrial, retail, and multi-family properties throughout the Western United States. The company also invests in distressed debt and ground leases.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Building Engineer / Facilities Manager plays a critical and highly visible role within the company, working closely with the asset and property management teams. This position requires a hands-on problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Location : Houston, Texas
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise third-party vendors and contractors as directed by the Senior Asset Manager, Property Manager(s), Assistant Property Manager, and Property Coordinator.
- Manage maintenance programs, building systems, and the scheduling of third-party inspections for critical infrastructure (e.g., fire life safety, HVAC, electrical, elevators, etc.).
- Schedule and complete work orders for general maintenance and repairs.
- Prepare purchase orders and review vendor proposals as needed.
- Coordinate and monitor vendor and contractor progress to ensure timely, high-quality work.
- Conduct daily property inspections and report any required repairs to management.
- Inspect building equipment and perform or oversee preventative maintenance.
- Maintain adequate inventory levels of maintenance tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Complete all required documentation and reports in a timely manner.
- Respond to after-hours and weekend maintenance emergencies and inspections as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
