Our Multifamily Finance Team is integral to Capital One's Commercial Real Estate Business and stands as one of the leading originators of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA loans.
Key Responsibilities :
Deeply understand the underwriting process for Agency multifamily loans, guiding stakeholders through each phase.
Handle complex underwriting scenarios with minimal oversight, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
Assess transaction risks and propose informed mitigation strategies for discussion with management.
Conduct comprehensive analysis of Borrowers and Guarantors, including their organizational structures and financial status.
Independently carry out property inspections and lease audits in compliance with Agency requirements.
Ensure all third-party reports align with Agency standards.
Prepare detailed narratives and analyses, presenting them with clear risk mitigation strategies to management.
Engage directly with borrowers and lender counsel, fostering professional relationships.
Lead due diligence efforts and oversee due diligence calls with borrowers to ensure thoroughness.
Collaborate effectively with internal and external teams to meet deadlines and objectives.
Supervise and mentor analysts, enhancing team efficiency and performance.
Review and provide feedback on the work of junior analysts to ensure quality outcomes.
Advocate for policy and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Participate in structuring deals alongside management, expanding your product knowledge.
Nurture relationships with Agency counterparts to streamline collaboration.
Possess a solid understanding of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac products, with the ability to underwrite various loan types.
Basic Qualifications :
Associate or Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in credit underwriting, portfolio management, or asset management.
Preferred Qualifications :
At least 3 years of Commercial Real Estate Agency underwriting experience, particularly in affordable housing.
Familiarity with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loan products.
Proficiency in Google Suite and / or Microsoft Office.
This position is located at our offices in Charlotte, NC; McLean, VA; or Plano, TX. The annual full-time salary for this role varies by location, with a range of $144,000 - $164,400 for Charlotte and Plano, and $158,400 - $180,800 for McLean.
People hired for this role are also eligible for performance-based incentives, which may include cash bonuses and long-term incentives.
