Your responsibilities will include : \n
- Assigning staff according to policies to ensure the equitable distribution of duties and fostering a collaborative work environment.\n
- Conducting rounds to assess residents and their care, and promptly reporting concerns to the relevant staff members.\n
- Receiving reports from charge nurses and preparing concise shift reports for the Director of Nursing.\n
- Effectively communicating any areas of concern to the Director of Nursing, ensuring timely administrative attention where necessary.\n
- Managing staff performance, including providing necessary guidance, support, and, when needed, disciplinary actions.\n
- Empowering your team by promoting responsibility and accountability to enhance the quality of resident care.\n
- Setting measurable goals for your staff and encouraging professionalism in the workplace.\n
- Servicing as a resource for nursing personnel while maintaining an open line for seeking guidance as needed.\n
- Utilizing expert nursing judgment to direct and manage patient care effectively.\n
- Documenting care plans and revisions transparently in collaboration with Charge Nurses.\n
- Identifying nursing interventions that align with care plans, implementing them, and documenting all relevant resident / family teaching.\n
- Demonstrating clinical competence to meet the diverse needs of each resident physically, spiritually, psychologically, and emotionally.\n
- Working alongside Charge Nurses to maintain clinical competencies and intervene as necessary with healthcare professionals.\n
- Maintaining an up-to-date understanding of emergency protocols and safety issues.\n
- Completing monthly Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) assessments and monitoring pharmacy recommendations.\n
- May undertake additional responsibilities as required.\n\nQualifications\n
- Current RN license in the state of employment.\n
- A minimum of two years of supervisory experience in long-term care preferred.\n
- Three to five years of long-term care or similar nursing experience.\n
- Exceptional verbal communication skills for interaction with patients, visitors, and staff.\n
- Strong organizational skills to manage time effectively and meet productivity goals.\n
- Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods.\n
- Capability to lift and transfer residents weighing over 200 lbs using proper techniques.\n
- Manual dexterity and skillful hand coordination with residents and medical equipment.\n
- Proficient documentation skills.\n
- Good visual acuity.\n
