Overview

Imagine stepping into a role where each day offers the chance to empower individuals to express themselves - that's the calling of a Speech Language Pathologist in the bustling heart of Texas. In Houston, your skills will do more than help patients cope with communication and swallowing disorders; they will inspire confidence, facilitate connections, and foster personal growth - from the curious toddlers mastering their first sounds to seniors regaining their voice and independence.

This position presents an extraordinary opportunity to work with a diverse spectrum of patients spanning all ages, engaging primarily in outpatient therapy with the occasional inpatient intervention. Whether you're dedicated to advancing the language skills of children, addressing neurogenic communication issues in adults, or aiding elderly individuals in cognitive-linguistic recovery, you'll find a role rich in variety and reward.

  • Create tailored treatment plans that align with both immediate and ongoing communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy services emphasizing communication, language skills, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing abilities.
  • Collaborate effectively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop integrated care plans.
  • Provide education and encouragement to patients and their families to facilitate progress beyond therapy sessions.
  • Support occasional assessments and interventions for inpatient speech therapy, ensuring seamless transitions across the care continuum.
  • Keep meticulous and timely records consistent with state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Continuously enhance your expertise through ongoing education and peer engagement in the field.

Education

  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if not yet ASHA-certified.
  • Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred : Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory within 30 days of employment.
  • Skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based practices for treating speech, language, and swallowing disorders across all age groups.
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Capability to adapt therapy strategies to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Solid clinical judgment and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable navigating electronic medical records and documentation requirements.
  • Benefits

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
  • Flexible scheduling to promote work-life harmony with a diverse caseload.
  • Opportunities for specialization in pediatrics, adult neuro rehab, or geriatric services.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) alongside holiday compensation.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options.
  • Support for continuing education and professional growth.
  • A collaborative, team-oriented work environment focused on providing quality care and embracing lifelong learning.
  • A Rewarding Journey Awaits You

As an integral member of our team, you'll do more than provide speech therapy - you'll become a crucial part of our community's mission to renew voices, enhance communication, and create moments of happiness through the timeless act of being understood.

You will be surrounded by colleagues who treat each other with kindness and respect in an environment that champions teamwork over rivalry. Each patient has a unique story; we're excited to have you help articulate those narratives.

Why You'll Fall in Love with Houston

Life in Houston is a symphony of cultures, blending innovation with a rich tradition of southern warmth. As the fourth-largest city in the United States, it offers an unparalleled mix of opportunities - from a robust arts scene to delectable culinary experiences that cater to every palate.

The city's vibrant neighborhoods are enriched by parks and outdoor spaces where families can gather for festivals, life music, and delicious street food. Seek adventure? Houston boasts access to green spaces, sporting events, and an array of establishments that celebrate both local flavor and global cuisine.

The artistic pulse of the city reflects in its dynamic murals, thriving theater scene, and events that unite diverse communities. For professionals, Houston is not only a place of personal and professional growth but also features no state income tax, an affordable living situation, and a burgeoning healthcare sector ensuring your career can flourish here.

Whether you're just starting your career or are an experienced clinician looking to make your mark, Houston provides the platform for your evolution - both personally and in your career.

    Who We're Seeking

We're on the lookout for a Speech Language Pathologist whose passion transcends mere metrics - someone with a heart full of compassion. You may see the tentative words of a child and envision vibrant conversations; when you hear the unclear speech of a stroke survivor, you recognize a powerful spirit.

You could be a pediatric expert ready to venture into adult services or a neuro-focused specialist keen to embrace early intervention strategies.

Whatever your specialization, if you are committed to serving with authenticity and leading with expertise, we are eager to welcome you into our community.

Let's Begin This New Chapter Together

If you understand that speech is about more than just sounds and that therapy alternates between patience and creativity - if you are ready to foster relationships while working toward goals, finding joy in the journey - then this might be the next fulfilling chapter of your career.

Join us in celebrating communication, connection, and the bravery it takes to start anew. Apply today to make your voice heard in our profession - and help others find theirs.
