Field Leader - Paint Division Job Title : Field Leader, Paint Location : Sturbridge, MA (Central Massachusetts) Compensation : Full-time, hourly position, non-exempt $28-$35 per hour, dependent on experience This position is benefits eligible; 2 weeks PTO Company vehicle Job Summary Field Leader will manage multiple projects at a given time. Field Leaders are expected to positively represent the company at all times. They are responsible for ensuring the full scope of work from project management to safety to painting is completed within the customer's timeframe and budget. In addition, Field Leaders provide overall supervision and coaching to Foreman and painters in order to effectively carry out customer service and paint-related duties in a professional manner. (Field Leaders will train, mentor and ensure employees know how to use our current technologies.) Primary Job Responsibilities Working Conditions : Equip job with proper equipment and first order of paint prior to job start Participate as an active painter during the job when needed to keep the project on track Weekly site visits to all jobs you are managing Pre and post completion jobsite visits as needed, with most of the time spend working at job sites. Be able to organize and assign tasks for completion Be able to complete and fulfill paperwork required Update project schedules daily using Smartsheet Understand the total scope of the projects. Understand employee's strengths and weaknesses Problem Solving Skills : Field Leaders must be able to envision all steps. They must be able to think and act on issues with perspective that represents the company and customer's best interest. Project Management : Attend handoff meetings with customers, OPMs, sales and estimators before project to complete job on or under agreed upon budget Actively inspect and manage all work occurring on their projects. Communicate any issues to the PM for potential change orders Complete site safety inspection checklists before the start of each job Develop and maintain positive relationships with site Supers & other trades onsite Make sure equipment and materials are inspected and on-site ahead of time and returned after use Report any lost or stolen equipment to OPM Calculate production rates and estimated materials needed (i.e. lifts, gallons of paint) Monitor and track project budget numbers across each project each week Perform cost to complete at 25%, 50% & 75% of the project Follow protocol to bill customers for extra work completed outside of original project scope Proactively communicate with Ops Managers on project status on a daily basis Elevate important issues to sales and accounting Ensure all employees are Maintaining all field rules and responsibilities and ensuring Field Representatives adhere to job site and company rules. Training and Coaching Crew : Set expectations and hold Foreman and painters accountable for completing assigned parts of the project. Train painters on unfamiliar or advanced painting techniques and / or products Verify crew is trained on lifts, spray machines, ladders and scaffolds before use. Ensure crew follows all incident reporting protocol. Ensure weekly Toolbox Talks are completed by all crews each week (delicate task to foremen onsite) Observe and give crew regular feedback and recognition on their job performance. Partner with HR to ensure crew attendance, appearance, and behavior is always professional Safety : Ensure that safety equipment and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are easily accessible, maintained and inspected regularly for damage. Demonstrate procedures and explain safety policies in an easy-to-understand manner. Regularly train all employees on safety procedures. Provide the resources for employees to perform their tasks safely MISC : Adhere to all OSHA standards Other duties as assigned Return phone calls / emails within 24 hours Willingness to use technology to communicate and track work Qualifications 5 or more years of experience in a painter / lead painter role 2 or more years of experience as a foreman A strong focus on safety, quality, and customer service Comfortability with managing multiple priorities and adapting when necessary Ability to read blueprints and perform basic calculations Advanced knowledge of painting techniques OSHA30 Required Valid driver's license HS Diploma or GED Ability to read, write, and speak English Authorized to work in the U.S. Punctual and consistent work attendance Positive attitude and willingness to learn Ability to communicate professionally; follow instructions and provide instruction Ability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment; stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods of time Compensation details : 28-35 PI82e465468b54-9200
