The Mission Systems manufacturing team is seeking a highly motivated, talented Manufacturing leader who has the desire to lead and coach our team in the assembly and test process in Cedar Rapids, Iowa facility. In this role you will be responsible for managing a dedicated team in the production environment for critical programs for customer deliveries. Successful candidates should expect to be immersed in a fast-paced, highly skilled, and challenging technical environment. This leader will have the opportunity to have a highly visible role to stand out and thrive. This leader will be expected to drive improved performance utilizing the aspects of CORE and continuous improvement.
This role will be performed ONSITE at our Collins Aerospace location in Cedar Rapids, IA.
What You Will Do
- Leads manufacturing team that is focused on supporting build and test of products to support key customer deliveries
- This role will partner with multiple engineering teams and programs to ensure program / product goals are met
- Manages and ensures all quality related items for the unit or shift are complete and documented so that established quality standards are met
- Leads cost reduction efforts and process improvements for the unit or shift to ensure efficiency of operations and cost effectiveness
- Leads scheduling for the unit or shift to ensure that operations run according to established production schedules
- Heads materials and logistics problem resolution for the unit or shift to ensure availability of materials and smooth operations
- Establishes performance objectives and leads cell performance and productivity
- Leads production innovation, including additive manufacturing, for the unit or shift to enhance production capabilities
- Partners with customers to understand customer needs and issues and ensure that the customers receive satisfactory standards of services
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experiencePrevious experience leading in electronics manufacturing; low rate / high mix environmentLean manufacturing experience with demonstrated resultsQualifications We Prefer
