Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : Nursing Specialty : Neuro ICU Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night Hours per Shift : 12 Experience : Minimum 1 year in Neuro ICU License : Must hold a valid nursing license Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS preferred Must-Have : ACLS and BLS certifications required. CPI certification preferred. Strong Neuro checklist experience with stroke management is essential. Floating to ICU and Med Surg is required. Description : This position involves providing critical care for patients in the Neuroscience ICU. You will care for patients with various neurological conditions. You will manage patient ratios of 1 : 2. You are expected to work every other weekend and 50% of holidays. The role involves arterial line management and blood product administration. You will assist with the management of BiPAP and CPAP machines. Care of ventilated patients is required. You will be responsible for central line care and management. Continuous IV sedation and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips will be part of your duties. You will monitor intracranial pressure (ICP) and interpret arterial blood gases. Experience with external ventricular drains (EVD) is a plus. You will provide post-neurosurgery management and participate in procedural sedation. Isolation precautions and use of PPE are mandatory. You will maintain infection prevention protocols across all patient care. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy and respiratory services. You will also handle phlebotomy and assist in the rapid response to patient needs. Your daily tasks will include monitoring patients with traumatic brain injuries and spinal cord injuries. Active participation in stroke and seizure management is expected. You will utilize specialized equipment for patient monitoring and care. All responsibilities must be fulfilled while adhering to patient safety standards.
