American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a NE or compact RN license, BLS, and NRP certification.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an acute care Labor & Delivery setting with 10 labor beds and 16 postpartum bedsCare for high-risk OB, antepartum, laboring, postpartum, and couplet care patientsNight shift schedule with 12-hour shifts from 6 : 30 p.m. to 7 : 00 a.m.Required to work every third weekend, with potential for every other weekend based on unit needsFloating between L&D and postpartum units as neededAdheres to AWHONN staffing guidelinesUtilizes Epic EMR; experience preferredTeam includes OB techs, PRN nurse aides, educators, managers, NICU supervisor, and perinatal safety specialistResponsibilities include managing high-risk obstetric patients, triage assessment, monitoring labor, assisting with c-sections as circulator, and couplet postpartum careMust be a strong team player with excellent critical thinking and communication skillsClassroom and orientation include 2-3 floor shifts to ensure unit readinessNavy blue scrubs are required for this positionArtificial fingernails are prohibited in patient care areas and refusal to comply will result in terminationCandidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligibleFirst-time travelers are consideredBusy unit with a supportive and collaborative team environment\n \n Requirements\n
Active NE or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not acceptedMinimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience, including couplet careCertifications required : BLS (AHA) and NRPAbility to independently manage antepartum and laboring patients, including inductions, vaginal and c-section deliveries, triage, and post-partum careDriver's license required for verification of 50-mile radius eligibilityMay not have been employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit-associated facility, including CHI or Dignity, within the past yearReferences required : one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 yearsAbility to pass a 90% or above on an open-book skills exam during orientation with termination for failure\n Benefits\n
