- Project Engineer
- , to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a newly licensed professional engineer or a mid-level engineer ready to take on greater autonomy in managing projects, guiding junior staff, and representing the firm in the field and with clients.
The ideal candidate will be technically strong, confident in the field, and comfortable communicating with contractors and clients. Experience working with apartment complexes, HOA's and residential construction highly desired.
- Position Duties and Responsibilities Include :
- Engineering & Project Management
- Manage and deliver small to mid-sized engineering and construction projects with limited supervision.
- Prepare and review design plans, technical details, and cost estimates.
- Conduct construction and field visits to ensure work conforms to plans and specifications.
- Prepare and revise engineering details, and specifications using AutoCAD, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
- Collaborate with external consultants to coordinate architectural, structural, and MEP design elements and cost estimates.
- Support the permitting process by coordinating submittals to local agencies and responding to plan check comments.
- Client Engagement
- Participate in project meetings with clients, contractors, and consultants, representing the firm with professionalism and responsiveness.
- Help identify client needs and develop solutions that align with project goals and budgets.
- Assist in developing client presentations.
- Quality Control & Code Compliance
- Ensure adherence to state and local building codes and other regulatory requirements.
- Participate in quality assurance reviews, redline corrections, and project documentation to maintain consistency and accuracy.
- Stay current on California code updates and industry best practices.
- Team Collaboration & Growth
- Support and collaborate with junior staff, helping to foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrate initiative and interest in growing into a leadership role over time.
- Requirements :
- 46 years of experience in an engineering consulting practice, with exposure to multiple project phases.
- Professional Engineer License / Certification
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering from an accredited program.
- Qualifications / Skills
- Experience working with apartment complexes, HOA's and residential construction highly desired.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Strong knowledge of California Building Code, CBC, and accessibility standards.
- Excellent design sensibility, with the ability to translate conceptual ideas into clear engineering solutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with BlueBeam and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage time effectively across multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- A collaborative and professional approach to working with clients, consultants, and colleagues.
- Salary and Benefits :
- Salary range based on experience and qualifications :
$110,000 $125,000 annual salary.
- Bonuses based on individual and firm performance.
