Introduction
Delbarton School, an independent Benedictine Catholic school for young men in grades 7-12 located in Morristown, New Jersey, welcomes applications for the position of Assistant to the Director of the Career Center. Founded by the Benedictine monks of St. Mary’s Abbey in 1939, Delbarton School nurtures the holistic development of its students through an outstanding academic curriculum, a thriving extracurricular program, and a deeply rooted Catholic spiritual life.
Delbarton School is seeking an administrative assistant to support the Director of the Career Center in career-related activities for Delbarton students and alumni. These activities include those as part of the Alumni Career Networking and Mentorship program, the Delbarton Externship program (DelEX), and a new initiative, the establishment of the Career Center, which will offer new services to all Delbarton alumni in a formal setting, assisting with securing internships, obtaining full-time employment, and advancing alumni careers.
Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Director of the Career Center within the Office of Advancement & Alumni.
Responsibilities
Administrative Support :
- Managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings.
- Handling correspondence, including emails and phone calls.
- Preparing documents, presentations, and reports.
- Organizing and maintaining files, both physical and digital.
- Coordinating travel arrangements and expense reports.
Technical Support :
Assisting with technical documentation and record-keeping.Managing databases and ensuring data accuracyGeneral Support :
Assisting with special projects and assignments.Handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion.Providing support to other team members as needed.Qualifications and Characteristics
A deep understanding of and commitment to Delbarton’s Catholic education and the values of Benedictine and Catholic Teaching, with service to Catholic organizations a plus.Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills, excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email services such as Constant Contact or Mailchimp, experience with data management, survey tools such as SurveyMonkey, and eSignature software such as DocuSign.Experience in utilizing AI tools to augment decision support systems.Problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a proactive and adaptable approach.Associate’s degree or relevant experience as an administrative assistant, preferably in a talent acquisition, human resources, or technical support organization. A bachelor's degree or higher in a related field is a plus.To Apply
