Job descriptionGreet patients and update medical records with current information Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and basic patient information Prepare patients for examination and assist healthcare providers during exams and procedures Administer medications and injections as directed by the provider Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens Schedule patient appointments and manage follow-up communications Maintain clinical equipment and ensure cleanliness and sterilization of instruments Educate patients on medication, treatment plans, and follow-up care instructions Document patient information accurately in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems Comply with healthcare regulations, privacy policies, and safety standards Certification as a Medical Assistant (e.g., CMA, RMA) from an accredited program Proven experience in a clinical or healthcare setting preferred Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) software Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, EKGs, and injections Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Experience working in a specialty medical practice (e.g., pediatrics, cardiology) Additional certifications such as CPR, First Aid, or phlebotomy certification Knowledge of medical terminology and billing procedures Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred
Job Summary
The Certified Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers in medical offices, clinics, or hospitals. This role involves preparing patients for examinations, assisting providers during procedures, performing basic clinical tasks, and managing patient records. The CMA ensures efficient patient flow and contributes to delivering quality patient care.
