Perform structural design of construction projects i.e., custom residential homes including new construction and additions / remodels, light industrial / commercial buildings, tenant improvements, retaining walls and various landscape structures. Complete structural calculations, markup structural plans / details and specifications / notes for construction projects that range from moderate to complex with minimal supervision by staff engineers. This includes coordination from commencement to completion with Clients, Architects / Designers, Contractors & other staff to meet project schedules. Other duties shall include site / field observations, printing / plotting and mentoring / assisting staff engineers as needed.

• Minimum Requirements :

B.S. in Civil Engineering, Structural Emphasis

EIT Certification

CA Professional Engineer's license preferred, but not required

5+ years of work experience in custom residential structural design, understanding of AutoCAD, familiarity with IBC (International Building Code) and CBC (California Building Code).

Projects mainly consist of wood-framed residential design and some light commercial projects. Qualified candidates should be self-motivated, detail oriented, highly analytical, highly independent and a team player with strong verbal and written communication skills.
